Yoo (:
i'm sure everyone's touched by mr sze's lecture yesterday. there were tears, and you can hear yu he's voice quivering when she talked to us. seriously, his lecture was inspiring, was touching. i mean, he
sacrificed his reputation for NYSE. i mean, it's not that easy to make a sacrifice, and his sacrifice to us was really huge.
seriously, like what mr sze said, we take things from granted. the reason why we arent working so hard now, is simply because we
thought we will be able to get a GWH for syf again, just because we have gotten GWH for the past two syfs.
but also, i dont think we shld always put the blame on ppl who arent up to standard. i mean, yes, sometimes they really arent putting their best, but what if, they ARE already putting their best but it's just because they lack a little talent? im not saying that this is the same scenario for everyone, but sometimes, they are a few ppl like that. a lot of ppl in the cello section told me that strings isnt their first choice CCA. they have been forced , in some way or another, to do something that they dont like to do. i believe that those ppl who have been fired do not have strings as their first choice. i think we shld try to understand those ppl too, they are being forced to do something that they dont like to do. how would you feel if you're forced to do something that you dont like to do? fortunately, the cellists are coperative, they look on the bright side of things. keep it up cellists! (:
the issue on strings bonded-ness, has been brought up many many times already. why is strings not bonded? is it because we really are self centered/selfish? i was shocked when i heard cao yun say that she saw someone going for lunch alone. i mean, does it take a lot to ask that someone to join you for lunch? even if that person turns down your offer, im sure she'll feel better knowing that someone actually bothered asking her. we HAVE to work together, cause after all, everyone in this team matters, and no one shld be left out.
i think we're lucky to have really good exco members, to have exco member who sincerely cares about the cca, who are really passionate about this cca, who really cares about everyone in this cca.
shirlynn, she wasted so much of her time just to lend her bow to the other bassists. she could have just walk off after her lesson finishes, but she didnt, she stayed for another hour or so, just to lend them HER bow. she could have just walk off, but she didnt. i believe we do really have to thank our exco, for being really committed to this cca.
having said all this, i hope we really can change for the better, and i hope that the exco will not need to remind us about the issue on bonded-ness again.
if i can understand what mr sze said, why cant you?
